Neuro-Ophthalmology Fellowship Program
Overview
The Penn Neuro-Ophthalmology clinical fellowship is supervised by Drs. Grant Liu, Kenneth Shindler, Madhura Tamhankar, Robert Avery, Ahmara Ross, Ali Hamedani and Adam Kruszewski, members of the Division of Neuro-Ophthalmology at the University of Pennsylvania, and accepts applicants who have completed residency training in either Neurology or Ophthalmology.
Since 1994, the Neuro-Ophthalmology Program has trained almost three dozen fellows, most of whom have current positions at academic medical centers. These individuals represent many of the field’s young leaders in clinical neuro-ophthalmology and in clinical and basic science research. They have been involved in producing some of the most important findings in the field of Neuro-Ophthalmology during the past two decades.
Application Process
All neuro-ophthalmology
fellowships that are compliant with the Association of University Professors of
Ophthalmology guidelines are transitioning to a match through the SDF
Match. Please monitor the North American Neuro-Ophthalmology Society (NANOS)
website (https://www.nanosweb.org/i4a/pages/index.cfm?pageid=3371)
periodically for updates on the upcoming match process. In general, it is
anticipated the match process will follow dates listed below, which are for
the year before the start of fellowship (eg, for a fellowship start
of July 2024, Applicant Registration and subsequent events occur in
2023).
- Early July- Applicant Registration Opens
- Late July- CAS Target Date
- Early Dec- Rank list submission deadline
- Mid Dec- Match Day
- Mid Dec- Post-Match vacancies
- July- Training begins
